Outreach
Outreach Overview
At A Village for Every Child, we know that outreach is critical for increasing access to resources and support. Through our outreach, we aim to ensure that every child and family benefits from available services. By actively engaging with parents, families, communities, organisations, and stakeholders, we increase the opportunities for children and families to learn, growth, and thrive. Working together, our community becomes stronger, more connected, and better equipped to meet the needs of children and families.
Village partner organisations and members of our strategic planning team have emphasised that outreach is a vital part of creating a supportive environment that fosters healthy development and positive outcomes for children aged 0-5.
Outreach helps bridge gaps, address disparities, and ensure that all families possess the tools and knowledge they need to support their children’s early years.
Scope, Impact & Objectives
*** Please note that the projects outlined here are not intended to be prescriptive giving the Leadership Group and Working Groups capacity to shape and change the focus, steps and direction of projects as per feedback and on the ground learnings and knowledge.
Scope
Outreach is about extending our reach to families who face barriers in accessing resources and services. By collaborating with service providers, schools, and government agencies, we aim to identify and address gaps in service delivery, ensuring that all families receive the support they need. Outreach efforts will include tailored programs that meet the unique needs of individual families, offering early intervention and ongoing support.
Impact
- In the short term, the Outreach will focus on identifying families in need and connecting them with relevant services and resources
- In the medium term, Outreach will work with community partners to create targeted outreach programs that improve access to early childhood education, healthcare, and social services
- In the long term, Outreach aims to establish a sustainable outreach model that ensures all children, regardless of their background, have access to the support they need to thrive
Objectives
- Increase access to services for families from underserved communities
- Strengthen partnerships with schools, community organisations, and government agencies to expand outreach efforts
- Provide tailored support to meet the unique needs of each family and ensure all children have the same opportunities for growth
Through these objectives, we aim to create an inclusive environment where every family feels supported and connected to the services that will help their children succeed.
What is next?
To strengthen our outreach initiatives, Village will:
- Form a working group comprising services that share this common agenda. Together, we will identify ways to offer better access to resources and early intervention for families from underserved communities
- Our outreach strategy may consider innovative models, such as: Schools as communities, home interactive services and co-location of services
- Collaborative outreach efforts from multiple organisations will help level the playing field, ensuring that all children, regardless of their background, have access to the same opportunities for growth and development. By promoting parent engagement and offering tailored support for the specific needs of individual families, we can create a more equitable future for our children.
- Offer backbone support through continued communication, mutually reinforcing activities, and methods for measuring success and gathering feedback
